How is “this” suppose to help me get what I want in life?

So thinking about life and clarity today. I had a session with my coach Kristin and some things came up around clarity and fear.

What I realized when talking through some things with her is that when there is not clarity, when there is hesitancy about something then that usually means there is an energy of fear around it. Fear around things not working out for the best, fear around the unknown and uncertainty, just fear in general.

What I realized is that this fear, this uncertainty and things not being clear, comes from a deep unconscious belief that I don’t deserve all that I’ve asked for. So there’s fear around pursuing it with all I have because of the unknown, the what if’s.

What if it doesn’t work out, what if my ego is bruised, what if I look like an idiot?
Gosh, that ego certainly has a way of holding us back from so much. It has a way of convincing us that it’s ok to not act because we aren’t clear. It has a way of coming up with and validating all these crazy excuses we have created in our head of why we can’t.

But what is it really holding us back from? Like everything!! In my case, it’s holding me back from everything. And guess what in my case, and I have an idea in yours as well, it holds God back. Not because God isn’t bigger than my excuses or fear, or uncertainty, but miracles only happen for the brave, the courageous the believers.

There’s no room for miracles for people who try to control every outcome of their life.

There comes a moment though when we must no longer accept the lies our ego tells us in order to protect and preserve us. There comes a time when we must step up and into that which we know is ours. To claim that which we know is ours, with clarity and certainty and releasing all control of how the process is supposed to look.

We face our deepest fears in those moments. We transcend what is otherwise known as the dark night of the soul.

We face who we really are and we begin to demand from the external world all that we know is rightfully ours.

I tell students this each week, in order for your external world to change your internal world must change first because the external is a direct reflection of the internal.

One more thing about fear and ego… It’s usually disguised by a story we’ve made up in our head about our reality.

So a few things

  1. What are some of the stories you are telling yourself that are holding you back?
  2. When you’ve identified the story you’ve been using how can you rewrite it to completely flip the story on it’s head?
  3. What action steps can you take today to further prove the old story wrong and begin to live in alignment with the new and more fulfilling story?

We know deep down what direction we should take. We know deep down the decisions we have to make. We know deep down that things always work out for us, just maybe not in the way we envisioned, so getting into the alignment with our spirit and soul is key.

I’ll leave you with one of my favorite quotes~

“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way.
Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it.
Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it!”
~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
